You must be at least 13 years old to use Cloudsource Weather. By using the app you agree to these terms.
Reports must reflect actual weather conditions at your location. Submitting false, misleading, or offensive content may result in account removal. Photos must be of weather conditions — offensive or inappropriate images will be flagged by the community and removed.
You retain ownership of your photos and content. By submitting a report, you grant Cloudsource Weather a license to display it to other users and to include the structured observation data (condition, intensity, location, time) in anonymized, aggregated datasets.
We may suspend or remove accounts that abuse the reporting system, spam votes, upload offensive content, or otherwise degrade the experience for other users.
Cloudsource Weather is provided as-is. Weather reports come from other users and may not be accurate. Do not rely on Cloudsource Weather for safety-critical weather decisions.
Email address — used only for sign-in via magic link. We do not send marketing emails.
Location — your GPS coordinates are fuzzed by approximately 100 meters before being stored with a report. We never store your precise location. Cached location data on your device is also fuzzed.
Photos — attached to weather reports, stored for up to 48 hours, then automatically deleted from our servers.
Usage data — report submissions, votes, XP, and achievement progress are stored to power the app's features.
We don't collect your name (display names are chosen by you), contacts, browsing history, device identifiers, or any data beyond what's listed above.
Your reports are shown to other users on the map. Anonymized, aggregated weather observation data (condition, intensity, time, approximate location, confidence scores) may be used to improve weather services and shared with third parties such as weather forecasters, researchers, and data services. Individual user information is never sold or shared.
Active reports are visible for up to 6 hours. After 24 hours, reports are archived. Photos are deleted after 48 hours. Archived observation data (without photos or user identifiers) is retained indefinitely for weather analysis.
You can delete your own reports at any time from within the app. To delete your account entirely, contact us and we will remove your profile and all associated data.
